Meet Your Therapist: Linda Jantz
Linda Jantz offers a unique combination of therapeutic bodywork tailored to your specific concerns and looks forward to being a part of your healing journey. She combines Somatic bodywork, which directly affects the body’s fascial system. Fascia envelops, supports and gives structure to the whole body.
This complex webbing gives our skin elasticity, our muscles flexibility and strength and plays a vital role in the health of all the structures it surrounds; be it muscles, joints, tendons, bones, nerves, or organs.
Fascia acts to assist and permit muscles to further lengthen and change shape as well as being able to divert and transmit forces to assist the body in all its dynamic movement (and range of motion)
Linda Jantz utilizes Craniosacral and Connective Tissue techniques to address the health of our body’s fasciae system. She begins addressing areas of restriction, which can originate from the base of the spine, sacrum and gluteus area and continues along the spine towards the shoulder, neck and cranium. Specific sequenced strokes pull through connective tissue layers and aid in the body’s ability to move with more ease, and connection to self. CTT is also beneficial for minimizing pain, stimulating bone and muscle repair due to injury, reduce scar tissue post surgery and assist in heightening one’s kinesthetic awareness beneficial for movement re-education. In tandem Linda supports a person’s head and sacrum using the craniosacral system to feel for the flow of CSR fluid. Tension or dysfunction in the spine or cranium can be due to a restricted flow of cerebrospinal fluid found within the Dura Mater. Dura Mater is the membrane that envelops the brain and spinal cord. Restriction of cerebrospinal fluid affects the membrane, which has attachments to the fascial system throughout the body. This restriction can result in referred pain in other parts of the body and affect the free movement of fascia in the surrounding structures (i.e. muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and organs) This hands-on technique is beneficial for decreasing neck and back pain, migraines, arthritis, scoliosis, TMJ, Sciatic pain and balancing the nervous system. It is also beneficial for helping process emotional and physical trauma.
Each session is tailored to a patient’s specific concerns.
